If you live close to the 1700 block of Hill St. and you are without water, a busted ten-inch water main is your problem. City of San Angelo water maintenance crews have been working for over four hours now to stop thousands of gallons of water from gushing out of the main.
At the moment (10 p.m. Friday) crews are having difficulty locating the correct valves to shut off in order to stop the flow of water that has created somewhat of a river around almost three city blocks. It is also unclear how many homes are affected by the massive leak. If your home is without water, please comment below.
What caused the ten-inch pipe to burst is unknown; although one witness said a large truck had driven over a pothole in the street causing a slight cave in, busting open the water main. There were no city officials available on the scene to make a formal statement and crews are unsure of how long it will take to stop the hemorrhage of city water.
