DALLAS – A Dallas rapper was arrested last week on weapons charges but authorities were surprised to find a tiger cub in his home and social media rumors circulated that the feline was missing from the Dallas zoo.
Dallas Zoo authorities were quick to dispel those rumors. "We are aware of a rumor that is circulating—we want to assure everyone our tigers are all accounted for and safe here at the zoo," the statement read. "We saw messages online and heard from concerned local neighbors and wanted to set minds at ease about your Dallas Zoo!"
Rapper Trapboy Freddy of Dallas, who legal name is Devarius Dontez Moore, was arrested on weapons charges Wednesday after police served the 30-year-old a federal warrant in his Oak Cliff residence.
Animal Services was called in to take the tiger cub at Moore's request. The animal is currently being held in an undisclosed location.
Moore could be charged with crimes related to having an exotic animal in Texas without a permit.
