San Angelo ISD Unveils 2022-23 Principals Starting Lineup

 

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Independent School District announced new principals and other administrators Friday.  

Here's the information from the SAISD.

San Angelo Independent School District is pleased to announce the following new principals and district leadership for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

PRINCIPALS

Mindy Goodnight - Crockett Elementary

Mrs. Mindy Goodnight is the new principal at Crockett Elementary replacing Mr. Clayton Hubbard who is now serving as principal at Glenn Middle School. Mrs. Goodnight has 13 years of experience serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and Director of St. Luke’s Child Development Center.

Colton Curtis - McGill Elementary

Mr. Colton Curtis is the new principal at McGill Elementary. Mr. Curtis most recently served as assistant principal at Central High School and Central High School on Oakes and a teacher and coach at Lake View High School.

Stacy Fischer - Holiman Elementary

Mrs. Stacy Fischer is the new principal at Holiman Elementary replacing Mrs. Ginger Luther who is now serving as principal at Bonham Elementary. During her 11 years in education, Mrs. Fischer most recently served as assistant principal at Holiman Elementary, an Instructional Coach, and teacher, and is a past Region 15 Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Ashley Gould - Bowie Elementary

Ms. Ashley Gould is the new principal at Bowie Elementary. Ms. Gould has most recently served as assistant principal at Lamar. Ashley’s experience as an assistant principal at Lincoln Middle School, HS Math Teacher and Head Coach/Assistant Athletic Coordinator have provided her experience at all levels of education.

Dana Felts - Fannin Elementary

Mrs. Dana Felts is the new principal at Fannin Elementary. Mrs. Felts previously served as the assistant principal at Fannin Elementary and Bowie Elementary.

Patricia Hartman - Reagan Elementary

Mrs. Patricia is the new principal at Reagan Elementary replacing Mrs. Brandy Tyner who is now serving as Director of Special Education. A San Angelo native, Mrs. Hartman has served as Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal at Reagan Elementary.

Ginger Luther - Bonham Elementary

Mrs. Ginger Luther is the new Principal at Bonham Elementary. Mrs. Luther previously served for 16 years as principal at Holiman Elementary, Goliad Elementary and Lincoln Middle School. Mrs. Luther has over 24 years of experience in Education.

Clayton Hubbard - Glenn Middle School

Mr. Clayton Hubbard is the new principal at Glenn Middle School replacing Michael Kalnbach who is now serving as Executive Director of Student and Data Services. A native of San Angelo, Mr. Hubbard has served in SAISD for 15 years as a teacher, head coach, and assistant principal. Mr. Hubbard is known for building community on his campuses.

ADMINISTRATION

Dr. Farrah Gomez - Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer

Dr. Farrah Gomez is in her 27th year serving in education and is now the Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer at San Angelo ISD. Dr. Gomez most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Learning, Executive Director of Schools and Academic Initiatives, Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction secondary and elementary principal, and teacher. Some of her honors include San Angelo 20 under 40 and Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 15 Principal of the Year. A San Angelo native, Dr. Gomez graduated from SAISD and her two daughters are also a product of SAISD.

Shelly Huddleston - Chief of School Leadership

Mrs. Shelly Huddleston is in her 27th year with San Angelo ISD. She began her career teaching ELA and Speech at Glenn Junior High and serving as Department Chair. She then moved to Central High School where she taught ELA, served as an Instructional Coach, and took on the role of Assistant Principal. She later became the

principal of Bonham Elementary before moving into District Administration to lead as the Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Huddleston has most recently been the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning working to supervise campuses and manage school improvement and grant funding.

Dr. Jason Skelton - Executive Director of Human Resources

Dr. Jason Skelton is now the SAISD Executive Director of Human Resources. Dr. Skelton has 16 years of experience as a middle school teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and elementary and high school principal, most recently serving as Director of Student and Data Services. He is a native of San Angelo.

Dr. Raelye Self - Executive Director of Teaching and Learning

Dr. Raelye Self returns to San Angelo ISD to serve as the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning. Dr. Self has experience with SAISD as a secondary teacher, elementary and middle school assistant principal, elementary principal and Director of Data Services as well as experience in higher education with Angelo State University and School Leadership Specialist at the Region Center. Dr. Self was recognized as a 2018 recipient of the City of San Angelo’s 20 Under 40 and a 2017 ASU Distinguished Carr Scholar Alumna.

Michael Kalnbach - Executive Director of Student and Data Services

Mr. Michael Kalnbach is now the Executive Director of Student and Data Services. Mr. Kalnbach’s experience as an elementary and secondary principal, most recently at Glenn Middle School, and his systems approach to teaching and learning will be valuable as he leads in this new capacity.

Matt Escue - Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction

Mr. Matt Escue is now serving as Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Mr. Escue’s classroom experience as a secondary teacher, secondary content facilitator and elementary assistant principal give him valuable experience to serve our secondary campuses. Mr. Escue will remain coaching our Central High School Cheer Team for competitions in his new role.

Angie Pidgeon - Director of Differentiated Instruction and Special Programs

Mrs. Angie Pidgeon returns to SAISD to serve as the Director of Differentiated Instruction and Special Programs working with Reading/Language Arts, Emergent Bilingual and Advanced Academics. Mrs. Pidgeon previously served as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at Region 15, secondary instructional coach and teacher.

LaTonia Sutton - Director of Human Resources

Mrs. LaTonia Sutton is now serving as the Director of Human Resources. Mrs. Sutton began her career at SAISD in 2008 serving as a teacher, ELAR Department leader, and middle school assistant principal at Lincoln and Lone Star Middle School. Mrs. Sutton is a champion of relationships and professional development.

Brandy Tyner - Director of Special Programs

Mrs. Brandy Tyner will move to serve as the Director of Special Programs. Mrs. Tyner has a strong instructional background as an instructional coach, and campus assistant principal and principal at Reagan Elementary with specialized special education services. Her service in these multiple roles will be a great benefit to the Special Education students at SAISD.

Tony Kennedy - Director of Maintenance and Facilities

Mr. Tony Kennedy is the new Director of Maintenance and Facilities at SAISD. With over 28 years of experience, Mr. Kennedy has served as Director of Maintenance and Plant Operations at Bushland ISD and as the Vocational Technical Coordinator for the Federal Correctional Institution in Big Spring. His experience includes supervision of work projects in new construction and remodeling projects in the areas of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, commercial housekeeping, and masonry.
