SAN ANGELO – Most of West Texas remains under a Heat Advisory through Thursday evening as temperatures once again soar near 105 degrees but there could be a respite on the way.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo say the dry weather will continue for several weeks but there is a slight chance of some scattered thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.
Expect Friday through Monday to continue to be hot with afternoon highs reaching above 100 degrees.
The Heat Advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m Thursday.
A Heat Advisory means conditions are occurring that will increase the chance of heat related illnesses. Residents are urged to drink plenty of fluids, wear light, loos fitting clothing, and take frequent breaks in the shade if working or recreating outdoors.
Check on vulnerable friends and family and never, ever leave a child or a pet in a locked car.
The next significant shift in the weather traditionally has centered around or near Labor Day, which this year is Monday, September 5, 2022.
