SAN ANGELO – A two vehicle crash at Koenigheim and Twohig Friday morning took out a stop sign and sent one driver to the hospital.
Around 11:15 a.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the intersection of South Koenigheim Street and West Twohig Avenue near downtown San Angelo for a reported major vehicle crash.

On scene, investigating officers observed that a white Ford Fusion and a dark gray Toyota 4Runner had collided on Koenigheim and pulled onto Twohig for assistance.
According to Office Long of the San Angelo Police Department, the white Ford Fusion was northbound on Koenigheim and the dark gray Toyota 4Runner was eastbound on Twohig. The driver of the 4Runner failed to yield the right of way to the Ford Fusion and both vehicles crashed in the intersection.
The 4Runner continued across the median of Twohig and struck a stop sign and a stopped car in the street. The driver of the 4Runner was transported to Shannon Medical Center with minor injuries and was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
Streets were dry at the time of the crash.
