Vacated Taco Bueno Joint Transforming into New Chipotle Mexican Grill

SAN ANGELO – Taco Bueno on Sherwood Way closed down due to staffing issues recently and now another Tex-Mex fast food favorite is taking over the restaurant near the new H-E-B.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening its second location in San Angelo at the former Taco Bueno restaurant on Sherwood Way next to Chick-Fil-A. Taco Bueno closed it's doors due to staffing issues placing a sign on their door that read, "Due to continued staffing issues, this location is permanently closed".

According to City of San Angelo permit and building reports, Chipotle Mexican Grill has a commercial project pending for 5590 Sherwood Way for $300,000 which is the location of the former Taco Bueno. It was first thought that Chipotle would open up closer to the Kohl's location next to Sam's Club.

This will be the second Chipotle location to open in San Angelo. The first will open on South Jackson Street next to Raising Cane’s and across the street from Rosa’s Café.
