SAN ANGELO – The director of a San Angelo nursing home facility was arrested Friday after he was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for sexual assault a child.

One of those individuals arrested that day was James Howard Baker, 38, of San Angelo. At the time Baker was charged with online solicitation of a minor but the SAPD had mentioned that he could have additional felonies pending.
A Tom Green County Grand jury met on Jun. 8 and indicted Baker for sexual assault of a child. In the court documents it alleges that Baker sexually assault a child under the age of 17 in Jun. 2021.
Baker is listed as the Director of Cedar Manor, a local nursing and rehab home in San Angelo. San Angelo LIVE! has reached out to the nursing home for a statement but they declined to comment.
Baker had a warrant for his arrest since Jun. 22 and he was arrested for that charge on Jul. 8. When asked about the arrest, SAPD gave the following statement:
"Baker had an active county warrant for his arrest and was picked up by SAPD today (Friday)," stated Officer Espinoza with the SAPD. "He is currently being booked in at the county jail for said warrant."
As of now Baker is being held in the Tom Green County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond. During his initial arrest he only spent two days in the jail and had a $50,000 bond at that time as well.
