Arson Charges Dropped Against Suspect in Devastating Fire that Destroyed Downtown Ranger

 

RANGER, TX – The charges against a man who was arrested for arson in Ranger have been dropped.

On March 19th, Robert James was arrested for arson when a fire broke out in downtown Ranger that destroyed several buildings.

Eastland County District Attorney Brad Stephenson told local media that, following a Texas Ranger-led investigation, those charges against James have been dropped due to lack of evidence.

According to Stephenson, James was not at the scene where the alleged arson took place.

Robert James has been released from jail.
