SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo Realtor and a local Ukrainian woman have teamed up to send medical supplies to the Ukraine.
In the video above San Angelo Realtor for Keller Williams, Janet Ridgeway, and Ukrainian National Anastasia Delebis, spoke Wednesday about their current mission of delivery medical supplies to victims in the Ukraine.
The two decided to hold a humanitarian drive at the Keller Williams office on Knickerbocker Rd. after Delebis told Ridgeway that they planned on having a rally in San Antonio.
"I said you know what I have a truck and let's fill the truck up," said Ridgeway. "That way when you go to San Antonio, instead of taking a few things that will fit in a car, we take a truck load of medical supplies and really try to make a difference. Send the love from San Angelo Texas to Ukrainians."
The main focus for the drive is to gather medical supplies to send to the Ukraine. Currently the path to get supplies there goes from San Antonio, to Chicago, to Poland, and then to the Ukraine.
"We are very, very thankful," said Delebis. "There is a situation where people cannot save lives because of a shortage of medical supplies. Anything we are doing right here and each person that stops and did a little bit. We are very thankful.
The group will be out collecting medical supplies, as well as monetary donations, at the Keller Williams, located at 2117 Knickerbocker Rd., until 6 p.m. Depending on the outcome the group may hold another fundraiser in the near future.
