SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Republican Women's club hosted the first gathering for winners of the March 1, 2022 Tom Green County GOP Primary Election and five of the six candidates in local runoffs attended and spoke to the group.
The candidates who are in the runoff election on May 24, 2022 who spoke at the gathering were:
Stacye Speck, Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3
Ron Perry, Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3
Shawn Nanny, County Commissioner, Pct. 4
Bill Ford, Incumbent County Commissioner, Pct. 4
Lane Carter, County Judge
The other candidate in the County Judge runoff did not attend the Monday night event.

There are three runoff elections in Tom Green County; County Judge, County Commissioner, Pct. 4, and Justice of the Peace Pct. 3.
Runoffs are triggered in Texas primary elections when there are at least three candidates and no candidate garners over 50% of the votes cast.
The runoff election is set by state law for May 24, 2022. Early voting begins May 14.
