OPINION — When you are looking for the best man to step up and be the new County Judge for Tom Green County, Joe Hyde is the man. He has proven skills as a leader, a manager, and innovator, an entrepreneur, and a man who loves this Great Country of ours.
As an Air Force Officer, Joe served with distinction as an Aircraft Commander and Pilot of a B-52 crew and flew into combat to project our government's and our allies' interests in the Middle East. He also was among the select cadre of combat instructor pilots commissioned to teach those skills to the newer generations of pilots at the bomber Combat Crew Training School. Only our Veterans have put their lives on the line for our Country.
Joe has started and successfully run several companies in various parts of the country, in the Communications and Internet sector, so he has the necessary skill set to tackle every problem that is likely to confront a County Judge.
The title County Judge is a misnomer as has been pointed out by several of the candidates. No Lawyer/Judicial experience is needed because the County Judge is a manager of the County. Joe Hyde is a proven manager and leader. He has my vote, and for the good of the County, I hope he gets yours.
John Muckleroy
Lt Col. USAF (Ret.)
Lt. Col. Muckleroy served with distinction as a career B-52 radar navigator during the Vietnam War. He is currently the commander of the San Angelo VFW post 1815.
