WATCH: Wall Volunteer Fire Department to Build Second Station

WALL, TX – The Wall Volunteer Fire Department announced on Friday that they will be building a second fire station.

According to the Wall VFD, on Feb. 18, the construction of their new station will begin very shortly. Members of the Wall community were able to make a number of contributions that eased the way for this project to move forward.

"The good Lord has blessed us with the land, the survey, the appraisal and attorney fees, all donated by very generous folks in our community," stated the Wall VFD on their Facebook page.

Although thankful for what they have already receive, the Wall VFD is still in need of a little funding.

"We are very appreciative of these generous contributions, but we still need your help. We are attempting to fund most of the cost of this station through grants, but we still need to contribute financially as a fire department, to show our (we) community is committed to the project," stated the Wall VFD on their Facebook page. "We appreciate your continued support, and helping us help you"

The new staton will be located east of the U.S. 87 and S. Fairview School Rd. intersection.

This past weekend the Wall VFD were called to a fire off of Country Club Rd. Check out the video below:
