Armed Suspect Arrested for Discharging a Firearm Toward a Business Near Lake Nasworthy

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- A San Angelo man was arrested on Friday, February 4, for allegedly shooting a gun in the direction of an occupied business.

According to court documents, a Tom Green County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to 9005 Knickerbocker Road regarding two Hispanic males discharging a firearm in the direction of a business.

The complainant described the defendant, his clothing, and the handgun that was being used. It was also stated that the defendant was discharging the firearm into the ground and into the air from their vehicle in the direction of the complainant.

The defendant and another man were driving a black Ford Expedition which they left the scene in and began traveling northbound on Knickerbocker Road with the hazard lights on.

The officer located the black Ford Expedition conducted a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Knickerbocker Road. The two occupants were consistent with the description the complainant gave. Probable cause was established due to the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The defendant was identified as Alan Sanchez.

While searching the vehicle, the officer discovered marijuana on in the rear floorboards and a glass marijuana pipe in the center console. Also found was a .38 special shell casing on the passenger floorboard where Sanchez was sitting and a black Rock Island Armory Model 200 .38 special revolver in the rear of the Expedition inside the jack compartment.

Due to the statement given by the complainant and the Mirandized statement given by the driver of the Expedition, Alan Sanchez was arrested for Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm.

Sanchez was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on February 4, 2022, and is currently an inmate being held on $100,000.00 bond.
