SAN ANGELO – Temperatures will fall to the teens overnight in the Concho Valley with wind chill values in the single digits to below zero and some streets, bridges and overpasses will likely refreeze creating dangerous driving conditions.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo issued a Special Weather Statement Friday afternoon indicating some spots on roads that appear to be clear will actually be covered in dangerous black ice.
Road conditions will be very slippery and dangerous Friday night well into Saturday morning.
Additional melting will occur Saturday afternoon with temperatures rising to the mid 40s and plenty of sunshine and radiant heating. Unfortunately, some bridges, overpasses and roadways will refreeze Saturday night as temps drop into the lower 20s.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution throughout the weekend.
