SAN ANGELO – Streets in San Angelo are continuing to thaw as the sun rises Friday and temperatures begin to climb but bitterly cold conditions will linger through Saturday morning along with some frozen spots on the road making driving hazardous.
According to meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo temperatures will rise to around 36 degrees Friday while wind chill values stay in the 3 to 13 degree range because of north winds at 5 to 10 mph. Radiant heating will clear most of the ice and snow Friday but there will be some spots still frozen Saturday morning.
Wind chills throughout the day are still so low they are dangerous to people, pets, pipes and plants unprotected outside. Bundle up and keep pets inside for one more day.
Temps Saturday will reach the upper 40s amid a warming trend that will see highs back in the 60s by Monday.
