Winter Weather Closures Extend Into Friday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The following are schools and businesses around the Concho Valley that are delaying or cancelling classes in the upcoming days:

Businesses:

  • Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley - Due to bad weather conditions, ADACCV’s Cotton Lindsey Center will be closed on Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th. The facility will reopen on Monday, February 7th at 8:00 am. Our 24-hour crisis hotline is 1-800-880-9641. Please stay safe and warm!
  • Around the Clock Child Care Center - Due to inclement weather, we will not open until 7am, tomorrow, Thursday, February 3, 2022. I have a sign up sheet for you to fill out when you pick up your child today if you plan to be here tomorrow, so I will know how many staff will need to be here and how much food I need to prepare.     • UPDATE - Looks like another snowy, icy day tomorrow. Once again, we will not open until 7am. Be safe and snuggly!
  • Concho Educators Federal Credit Union - THURSDAY: Drive thru & lobbies will open at 10 a.m. 
    • UPDATE - FRIDAY: Drive thru 5 lobbies will open at 10 a.m.
  • Concho Valley Gymnastics - Concho Valley Gymnastics will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4, due to inclement weather.
  • Concho Valley Workforce Solutions - The Workforce Solutions office will be closed on Thursday Feb. 3rd and Friday Feb. 4th due to inclement weather. The office will reopen and normal operations will resume on Monday Feb. 7th at 8:00 AM.
  • First Community Credit Union - Due to weather on Friday, February 4, 2022, all 1st Community Drive-thrus will open at 9:00 am and Lobbies will open at 10:00 am. Additional updates will be posted as weather dictates. Online and Mobile Banking as well as ATMs will be available. Please be safe and use caution while driving!
  • Grace Temple Child Development Center - Grace Temple’s Child Development Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, February 3rd and 4th due to weather.
  • Kids are Us Learning Center - We will be closed Thursday 2/3 and Friday 2/4 due to winter storm. Please stay safe and enjoy the unexpected time with your babies!!!
  • La Esperanza Clinic - All La Esperanza Clinics will have a delayed start of 10am today,  February 4, 2022 due to inclement weather. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
  • Little Coconuts Learning Center - We will be closed Thursday 2/3 and Friday 2/4 due to winter storm. Please stay safe and enjoy the unexpected time with your babies!!!
  • Little Rascal's Clubhouse - Per our bad weather policy, Little Rascal’s will be closed Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th.
  • Meals for the Elderly - Meals For The Elderly will be CLOSED on Thursday, February 3rd, and Friday, February 4th due to the inclement weather. Recipients received additional frozen meals today to make up for the days we will not be able to deliver.
  • MHMR Services for the Concho Valley - MHMR Concho Valley Offices are closed February 3. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions for Friday. Need to speak with someone during a Crisis - Call Crisis Line: 800.375.8965 or 325.653.5933
  • Pumpkin Patch Preschool - We will follow SAISD and be closed tomorrow, Feb. 4, due to continued hazardous road conditions.
  • Republic Services - Republic Services has canceled all trash-related services for Thursday, Feb. 3, due to icy road conditions. They will monitor the weather for a possible Friday service. Residents are encouraged to keep their carts at the curb and not move them up so that Republic has access to the carts on any makeup days.
  • Sports Next Level - Due to weather and delays we will open at 3pm both Thursday & Friday this week!
  • Southwest Children's Academy - We will follow SAISD and be closed tomorrow, Feb. 4, due to continued hazardous road conditions.
  • Ultimate Air Trampoline Park - In the interest of the safety of our staff and customers, we will be CLOSED TODAY and will be open again Friday. Stay safe and stay warm everyone!
  • West Texas Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center - The office of Dr. Mark Ramirez will be closed on Feb. 3. The office plans to reopen on Feb. 4 at 9:30 a.m. pending road conditions.
  • West Texas Rehab - Due to inclement weather WE WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD We will continue to monitor the weather to determine if we will be open on Friday. If you have an appointment scheduled, you will be contacted to reschedule. We apologize for the inconvenience but safety is our #1 priority.
  • YMCA San Angelo -  As always, the Little Explorer’s Preschool Program will follow SAISD delays and closures. In regards to the facility opening and closing schedule, we will send updates to news stations, post here on Facebook and send texts via remind.

Government Offices: 

  • City of San Angelo - City of San Angelo offices will delay opening on Friday, Feb. 4 due to potential icy conditions on roadways. City offices will open at 10 a.m. Feb. 4. We encourage citizens to check local weather services for updates regarding road conditions before traveling. Please use caution when driving in icy conditions and take your time if you have to get out and travel on the roadways.
  • Concho Valley Transit -  Due to the weather conditions in the region, there will be a delay/cancelation of the following services: • Fixed Route – All fixed route services will be suspended tentatively until 10:30AM tomorrow. • ADA/Paratransit – Services will tentatively begin at 8AM, any previously scheduled trips before 8AM are canceled. • Rural – All rural routes into San Angelo will be completely suspended Thursday until conditions improve. Further delays or cancelations could happen depending on weather conditions.     • UPDATE Feb. 3 - After assessing the roadway conditions this morning, CVT has opted to delay Local Demand Response until 10am. We apologize for the inconvenience.
      • UPDATE Feb. 3 - Due to safety concerns over the road conditions, CVT has made the decision to suspend all services for the remainder of the day. Please check back for any further updates.
  • Goodfellow AFB - Due to weather/road conditions, Goodfellow AFB is closed/activities canceled for all non-mission essential personnel for Thursday, Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4. Dining Facilities will remain open. The Cressman Dining Facility will be closed on Friday, Feb. 4. The Base Exchange will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3 and will reopen Friday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. All other AAFES facilities hours remain the same. The commissary will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Child Development Center and School Age Program are closed. The Goodfellow AFB North Gate is closed. The pedestrian gate is closed. Goodfellow AFB Jacobson (south) gate is open and will maintain 24-hour operations. The north gate will be closed Thursday and Friday. The visitor control center and commercial vehicle inspection area are closed. Ross Clinic will be closed and customers with on-base medical appointments will be rescheduled.
  • San Angelo State Park - Due to the winter weather over the next few days, services at the San Angelo State Park may be disrupted. Most notable will be the gatehouse hours. If the gatehouse is closed, please use the self-pay station or scan the QR code on the gatehouse window to reserve your day pass online.
  • Tom Green County - Tom Green County Offices will be closed on Thursday & Friday, Feb. 3 and 4, due to inclement weather.

Schools:

  • Angelo Catholic School - Angelo Catholic School will be closed for the next two days, February 3-4, 2022, due to weather.
  • Angelo Driving Academy - Bad Weather Days! We are cancelling all DRIVES for Thursday and Friday.
  • Angelo State University - Due to inclement weather, classes at Angelo State have been cancelled and the university will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Essential staff personnel should contact their direct supervisor for further instruction.
  • Ballinger ISD - There will be no school tomorrow, Friday, February 4th due to inclement weather. Due to temperatures not expected to get above freezing until tomorrow afternoon, Ballinger ISD is cancelling school for Friday (2/4). Information concerning tomorrow’s district home basketball games vs TLCA will be released in the morning.
  • Blackwell CISD - School for Friday, February 4 is canceled. Varsity basketball games scheduled for Friday are postponed to Saturday, Feb 5. Varsity girls will start at 2:00, varsity boys will play after. The JH basketball tournament scheduled for Saturday, Feb 5 has been canceled.
  • Bronte ISD - Due to inclement weather conditions expected for tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 3rd, Bronte ISD has made the decision for the safety of staff and students to close on Thursday. Friday is already a scheduled student holiday. Due to the possibility of icy roads, all of Bronte ISD will release today at 2pm. Buses will run at this time. Stay warm and stay safe.
  • Brownwood ISD - Due to the expected weather conditions, Brownwood ISD schools will be closed Thursday, February 3, and Friday, February 4. Classes will resume at their regular time on Monday, February 7.
  • Christoval ISD - Dear Cougar Family, All CISD schools and after school activities are cancelled for Friday, Feb. 4. Please stay off of the roads. If you must travel, please use extreme caution. Sincerely, David R. Walker, Ed. D.
  • Cornerstone Christian - Cornerstone will be closed both Thursday and Friday - February 3rd and 4th - due to anticipated icy weather conditions. Please stay home, stay warm and stay safe. If you have any special needs during this time, please let us know!
  • Crocket County CISD - CCCCSD will start at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4! District officials will evaluate in the morning.
  • Early ISD - EISD schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week due to developing winter weather. After-school and evening activities are also cancelled, postponed, or moved. Please check with your child's coach/director/sponsor for rescheduling details. We encourage you to take winter weather precautions for your homes and families, and please stay safe and warm.
  • Eden CISD - Due to icy road conditions, Eden CISD will be closed on Friday, Feb 4. Saturday school on Feb 5 is cancelled. Classes will resume on Monday, Feb 7. Stay safe and warm, Bulldogs.
  • Grape Creek ISD - Due to inclement weather, we will be canceling school on Thursday, Feb. 3 and opening at 10 am on Friday, Feb. 4 with buses running two hours late. The information for Friday is subject to change, so please watch this website and your local news media.
    • UPDATE - Due to inclement weather, we will be canceling school for Friday, Feb. 4.
  • Howard College San Angelo - Due to inclement weather, all Howard College San Angelo campuses will be closed on Thursday, 2-3-22 and Friday 2-4-22. All classes are canceled and all offices will be closed. Please check howardcollege.edu for ongoing updates. Stay safe & warm! Stay safe & warm!
  • Irion County ISD - Due to impending inclement weather forecasted for this evening and Thursday, Irion County ISD will be closed Thursday, February 3rd. A decision regarding school on Friday will be made Thursday afternoon. Stay Warm!
    • UPDATE - Due to continued weather conditions, Irion County ISD will be closed Friday, Feb. 4.
  • Junction ISD - Due to the weather there will be NO SCHOOL Friday, February 4th. We will resume on Monday February 7th at the regular time.
  • Kermit ISD - “Due to the predicted hazardous weather and road conditions,

    Kermit Independent School District is cancelling school for Thursday, February 3, 2022. All KISD buildings will be closed, and all district activities are cancelled. Please stay warm and safe!” Dr. Joe Lopez

  • Mason ISD - Mason ISD will be closed on Thursday, February 3rd due to the strong possibility of inclement weather conditions.  All extracurricular activities for Thursday are canceled.  Everyone stay safe! UPDATE -  Mason ISD will also be canceled for Friday, February 4th. Please use extreme caution if traveling on the roads. Varsity only Basketball games will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 5th in Mason. Girls @ 2:00 Boys following Softball scrimmage in Ballinger has been cancelled.
  • Menard ISD - Menard ISD will be closed on Thursday. We will continue to monitor the weather and conditions and give further updates about Friday at a later time.
  • Miles ISD - Due to the forecasted weather conditions Miles ISD will cancel school on February 3rd and have a 10 am start time for Friday February 4th.  We will monitor road conditions and update you on any changes.
  • Olfen ISD - School for Friday February 4th has been cancelled! We will see all our Mustangs back on Monday. Stay safe and warm!
  • Paint Rock ISD - Due to hazardous weather conditions PRISD will not have school tomorrow (2/3/22) or Friday (2/4/22). Classes will resume on a regular schedule Monday, 2/7/22.
  • Potter's Hand Christian School - Classes will be canceled on Thursday, Feb. 3.
  • Premier High School -  Due to anticipated hazardous driving conditions, for our staff and students, we are CLOSING our campus both Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th. Stay safe and warm! We love you!
  • Reagan County ISD - RCES parents: Late start tomorrow, 2/3/22. All drop off locations will open at 10:00, breakfast will not be available. No buses will run tomorrow morning or afternoon. Pipeline/Tutorials are cancelled for today & tomorrow. Please contact the office if you have any questions. Thank you all, take care and be safe.
  • Robert Lee ISD - Due to the inclement weather heading into our area the decision has been made to CANCEL classes for THURSDAY, 2/3/22. RLISD will also have a late start on Friday, 2/4/22 at 10:00 AM. Friday's conditions will be re-evaluated that morning and you will be notified via the automated calling system and the RLISD Facebook page if classes need to be cancelled on Friday, but as of now we will have classes beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday.     • UPDATE - Robert Lee ISD will be closed Friday, February 4th due to the hazardous conditions of the roadways.
  • San Angelo Christian Academy - Due to inclement weather conditions SACA will not have school on Thursday or Friday, February 3-4, 2022.  Please stay warm and safe.

  • Santa Rita Learning Academy - We will follow SAISD and close on Thursday 2/3 and Friday 2/4. Stay warm! We will see y’all on Monday
  • Schleicher County ISD - Due to inclement weather and its effect on driving conditions, SCISD will not have school 2/3/22. We will have a 10:00 AM start Friday, 2/4/22 Stay warm and safe!
    • UPDATE - Due to inclement weather and its effect on driving conditions, SCOSD will not have school Feb. 2. Stay warm and safe!
  • Sonora ISD - Due to predicted weather conditions, all Sonora ISD campuses will have a 10:00 AM start time on Thursday, February 3rd. Buses will run two hours late.
    • UPDATE - All Sonora ISD campuses will have a 10:00 AM start Friday, February 4th, due to weather. No buses will run. Please be safe and cautious traveling to school tomorrow.
  • Sterling City ISD - Thursday Feb 3 No School Friday 10:00 am start. We will monitor road conditions and update you on any changes.
    • UPDATE - School will be canceled for Friday Feb 4. Stay Safe!!
  • TLCA San Angelo - Dear Texas Leadership Families, Campus and offices will be closed on Thursday, February 3, 2022 due to winter weather and road conditions.   • Trinity Lutheran School San Angelo - Due to inclement weather and the anticipation of icy road conditions both the school and ECC will be closed Thursday Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4.
  • Veribest ISD - Veribest ISD will be closed tomorrow, February 3rd, due to inclement weather. UPDATE - Veribest ISD will be closed tomorrow because of weather. We were already scheduled to be out on Friday, February 4th, so enjoy a nice, long 4 day weekend! See you all on Monday the 7th!
  • Wall ISD - Please be advised that Wall ISD will have a 10:00 a.m. start on Thursday, February 3rd due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous driving conditions. As conditions change please stay tuned to local news stations and additional school alerts regarding potential school closures.
  • Water Valley ISD - Due to the forecasted winter precipitation for the next 24 hours, WVISD will be closed tomorrow, February 3. After consulting with coaches and sponsors, there are no after school practices or other activities today. Please be safe!
  • West Texas Boys Ranch - WTBR will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3. 
  • Winters ISD - Due to bad weather, ACE will be cancelled. All students need to be picked up at 3:45 today Wednesday, February 2. Also, school will be cancelled tomorrow Thursday, February 3. We will return to school Friday with a late start at 10am on February 4.
