Record Heat Monday Will Give Way to Cooler Weather This Week

 

SAN ANGELO – Record high temperatures will be broken again Monday in the Concho Valley before a weak cold front will cool things down Tuesday. 

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, the high temperature in San Angelo Monday is forecast to reach 83 degrees.  The record high temperature for this date is 77 degrees set in 2005.  

In Abilene, the record high temperature for Dec. 27 is 79 degrees set in 1907 and the high there is forecast to reach 81 Monday afternoon.  

A trough of low pressure will bring gusty north winds and cooler temperatures Tuesday and throughout the week.

Tuesday's high will only reach the mid 70s with lower 70s throughout the week.  

A strong cold front will blow through West Texas on New Year's Day Saturday dropping temps to the id 20s with highs in the mid 40s.
