SAISD Voices Concern Over Social Media Threat

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD released a statement late Thursday night warning the public of a possible school threat.

The following is a statement released by SAISD:

San Angelo ISD is aware of a threat of school violence circulating on TikTok regarding Friday, December 17, 2021. These posts are not unique to San Angelo, San Angelo ISD, or our campuses.

At this time, there is not a specific, credible threat to an SAISD campus, but SAISD and local law enforcement are continuing to monitor the situation out of an abundance of caution.

We take all matters of this nature seriously, and students and staff may see an increase in police presence on school campuses tomorrow.

As parents, please take time to remind your child(ren) about the seriousness and resulting consequences of making any kind of threat, about the appropriate use of social media, and encourage your student to speak with you.
