SAN ANGELO, TX – The end of the road is in sight for the rebuild of Southwest Blvd.
According to the City of San Angelo's Communications Department, on Dec. 9, the construction of the low water crossing is more than half way complete.
Work continues on the Southwest Boulevard low water crossing near McDonald’s. The contractor is currently installing the concrete lanes over the low water crossing area.
Two lanes are complete, with the contractor working on installing reinforcement and concrete forms on the next lane. As each lane is completed, the contractor will repeat the process for the remaining lanes until all lanes are finished.
As for up the road, at the intersection of Southwest and Southland, the road construction will take a break for the holiday season.
"Reconstruction of the Southwest/Southland intersection has been divided into quadrants, with two out of three complete," stated the release. "Quadrant 3 is anticipated to be complete before Christmas break, and the final quadrant will begin after the new year to minimize traffic delays during the holidays."
