SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo physician has entered the race for San Angelo City Council to fill the recently vacated Single Member District 5 seat.
Bryan Neil Angle, MD, has filled the paperwork with the City Clerk to add his name to the Jan. 29 special election ballot.
According to his ballot application, Angle has lived in SMD-5 for at least six months and has resided in the state of Texas for at least one year.
Angle joins John Austin Stokes and Lynette Lucas on the special election ballot Jan. 29.
The city council seat was vacated when Lane Carter announced his candidacy for Tom Green County Judge.
The special city council election will be held in the middle of the regular primary election season which is currently underway. The primary election will be held on March 1, 2022 and includes offices from Governor of Texas to Justice of the Peace including statewide offices and County offices including County Judge, County Commissioner, Court at Law Judge, and Justice of the Peace.
The last day to file for the vacant seat on the San Angelo City Council is Monday, Dec. 20, 2021.
