Much Needed Rain Likely Saturday in the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO – Concho Valley area rivers, lakes and streams could benefit from some much needed rain Saturday if the right weather conditions come together as forecast.

According to meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, there is a 70% chance of rain Saturday morning between sunrise and noon.

An upper level disturbance will move across a shallow cool air mass located over West Central Texas bringing showers Saturday morning.  It is a mild disturbance so rainfall totals will be limited to around 1/4 inch with up to 1/2 inch possible with stronger showers.  Ponding of water on roadways is possible and some isolated areas may see minor flooding including in the City of San Angelo.

Rain chances end Saturday evening from west to east across the area.

No severe weather is expected across the area with this rain event.

Temperatures will remain cooler through out the holiday weekend with lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s and 60s.

Temps will rebound by Monday to near seasonal normals with highs in the 70s.
