Abilene Hosts First Ever Children's Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic

ABILENE, TX –– On Wednesday, the City of Abilene hosted its first Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic for children.

Hosted at the Abilene Convention Center, Taylor County medical staff offered free vaccines for children as young as five.

“The COVID vaccine is what we need to have for our society to continue to get back to normal," said Dr. Gary Goodnight, Medical Director for the City of Abilene and Taylor County.

In addition to providing vaccines for children, residents who received the first two doses of the Moderna vaccine and were eligible for a booster could also stop by the clinic.

“When I saw that the health department was providing the pediatric vaccines with the adult boosters, I thought it was perfect. It was perfectly convenient," said parent Courtney Queen. "We signed up online which was also very easy. We walked up, we gokid-friendlyes, everybody was kid friendly, and we'll return.”
