AUSTIN, TX – The body of a woman, who went missing on Labor Day, was finally found at a depth of over 100 feet on Saturday in Lake Travis.
According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, on Sep. 11, rescue teams recovered the body of a woman who had drowned on Labor Day weekend.
Crews initially began their search on Sep. 6 but the mission went from rescue to recover after using multiple resources including a drone, Sonar and an underwater camera.
TCSO claims that around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, witnesses told them that two couples rented a sailboat, and a woman decided to go swimming near the boat. She began to struggle in the water and wasn’t able to reach a nearby life jacket. At the time of the incident a man attempted to jump in the lake to save her but was unsuccessful.
The body of the unidentified woman was recovered at a depth of 124 feet.
