Abilene Emergency Vet Clinic Sees Spike in Rattlesnake Bites

 

ABILENE – Veterinarians in Abilene are seeing an increase in rattlesnake bites recently.

The emergency vet clinic in Abilene reported it has treated 13 bite victims over the past week.

Abilene Emergency Clinic made a post on social media warning that rattlesnakes were moving and biting patients.

Antivenom is the only treatment for rattlesnake bites.

Rattlesnake bite vaccinations are available, and anyone interested is encouraged to speak with their vet.

Abilene is about 100 miles north of San Angelo.
