SAN ANGELO, TX – Heavy rain from thunderstorms rolled through the San Angelo area Tuesday morning flooding streets all across town causing traffic headaches in many locations.
The National Weather Service office in San Angelo issued several Flash Flood Warnings for the area.
Here's the latest:
At 10:31 a.m., law enforcement is still reporting multiple reports of stranded cars in high water and flooded streets across the city of San Angelo. Also, storm rainfall totals of 8 to 10 inches have occurred just west of San Angelo along Farm to Market Road 863.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1/4 to 1/2 inch are likely with local amounts of 1 inch are likely through 1:30 p.m. Some locations that will experience flooding include the city of San Angelo, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, San Angelo State Park, Lake Nasworthy, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Grape Creek, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Tankersley, Harriet, Wall, Arden and Us-67 Near The Irion-Tom Green County Line.
Officials are urging motorists to turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
