SAN ANGELO, TX – Ten United States Congressmen are in San Angelo Wednesday for the 17th annual West Texas Legislative Summit at Angelo State University.
The annual gathering of elected officials is held each year to provide an opportunity for West Texans to visit with and hear from elected officials in Washington and Austin as well as local elected officials about issues facing the area, the state and the nation.
First term Congressman August Pfluger of San Angelo is co-hosting the WTLS and has organized this year's event. Pfluger has managed to bring nine of his colleagues to San Angelo for this historic event. There has not been a gathering of this many U.S. Congressmen in San Angelo in recent history.
The WTLS got underway Tuesday night at the Cactus hotel with a mixer and dinner. The summit continued Wednesday morning with a breakfast and panel discussions at the C.J. Davison Center at Angelo State University.

In addition to Pfluger, nationally known Congressman and decorated Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw of Houston will attend.
Along with Congressmen Pfluger and Crenshaw, Congressmen Chip Roy, Brian Babin, Jodey Arrington, Roger Williams, Ronny Jackson, Kevin Brady, Michael Burgess and Randy Weber are confirmed to attend.
The summit is co-hosted by Pfluger, State Representative Drew Darby and State Senator Charles Perry.
