Swimmer Drowns in Balmorhea State Park Pool

 

BALMORHEA,TX – A swimmer was found unresponsive in the historic pool in Balmorhea State Park.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Daniel Angelest, a 57-year-old from El Paso was found in the Balmorhea State Park pool. Visitors discovered Angelest unresponsive in the pool around 1:30 p.m. on July 25th, 2021.

The staff at Balmorhea State Park and visitors performed CPR on Angelest until EMTs arrived. Angelest was taken to Reeves County Hospital where he would be pronounced dead upon arrival.
