City of Abilene Suspends Incentive to get Vaccinated

 

ABILENE,TX – The Covid-19 delta variant has forced the city of Abilene to suspend its incentive for employees to get vaccinated.

The city of Abilene sent out a memo to city employees saying they would offer 40 hours of vacation time if the employees got vaccinated.

Now that the Delta variant has forced the city to suspend the incentive because the city may not be able to maintain essential services should the worst-case scenario happen.

The Abilene City Council will discuss reimplementing the plan or a similar one in the future.

The City of Abilene is also encouraging employees to reschedule their vaccination if they planned on receiving the 40 hours of vacation.
