Covid-19 in Tom Green County Spreading as Active Infections Near 100

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Covid-19 in Tom Green County is beginning to spread once again as active infections are nearing the triple digits.

According to the City of San Angelo's Public Information Office, on Jul. 13, the city's health department reported 11 new COVID-19 infections. That raises the total positive infections in the county since Mar. 2020 to 17,040. 

There are currently 83 active COVID-19 infections in Tom Green County. Tom Green County has a population of 119,200.

There are currently 5 patients hospitalized in Tom Green County with COVID-19.

So far there have been 316 COVID-19 fatalities in Tom Green County. 201 of the deceased were residents of the county.

And everyone returned to normalcy when infections became rare, and the vaccine deniers justified not getting one since the infection rate was almost nil. I hope everyone enjoyed their brief time of life as usual. The Delta variant is here and spreading like wildfire with folks thinking Covid is in our rearview mirror. I'm avoiding crowds and wearing a mask when I enter a busy store, and I urge others to do the same. Masking is a minor inconvenience while shopping.
