DEL RIO, TX -- Over the holiday weekend U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested five criminal illegal alien invaders with prior felony convictions. According to authorities, one of the men had previously been convicted of attempted murder.
According to CBP, between July 2nd –– July 5th agents arrested three Mexican nationals with prior convictions for child molestation, sexual abuse, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. One Guatemalan national with prior convictions for sexual assault, sodomy, and kidnapping was also arrested.
On the Fourth of July, agents also arrested Casimiro Herrera-Alvarez, a Mexican national, near Del Rio. Agents soon discovered Herrera-Alvarez has been convicted of second-degree attempted murder in California.
Herrera-Alvarez served five years in prison and was later deported back to Mexico in 2014.
According to CBP, since October 1st Del Rio Sector Border Patrol Agents have arrested 927 illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions, a 382 percent increase over the same timeframe last fiscal year.
