Tom Green County Sheriff Swears in New Deputies

 

TOM GREEN COUNTY, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the swearing in of two new patrol deputies.

The ceremony was held in the Tom Green County Commissioners Courtroom Monday.

Deputy Richard Swanson is a four year law enforcement veteran having most recently worked with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Swanson began his career with the San Angelo Police Department in 2017. Prior to entering law enforcement, Deputy Swanson served five years in the United States Navy.

Deputy Steven Diaz began his law enforcement career with the Tom Green County Detention Center in July of 2019.

Deputy Diaz is a 2014 graduate of San Angelo Lake View High School. He holds an Associates of Science Degree from Howard County Junior College and he graduated from the Concho Valley Regional Law Enforcement Academy in June of 2021.

Deputy Swanson and Deputy Diaz will begin their service with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office in the patrol division.
