NWS: Severe Thunderstorms Possible Memorial Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that includes the Concho Valley and the city of San Angelo. 

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 7 p.m. on Memorial Day.  Most of the severe weather will occur in the Big Country and Abilene area but storms are possible in the San Angelo area. 

The round of storms Monday afternoon could produce heavy rain leading to flash flooding.  

The unsettled weather pattern makes thunderstorms possible for the next seven days. 

There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Monday afternoon and an 80 percent chance Monday night.  An additional one to two inches of rain is possible by Tuesday morning.
