NWS: Severe Thunderstorms Possible for the Next 7 Days

SAN ANGELO, TX – An unsettled weather pattern is making forecasting the weather difficult for the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend but severe thunderstorms are likely somewhere in the Concho Valley some time in the next seven days.

There is a 60 percent chance of severe thunderstorms Friday evening and a 70 percent chance overnight.  The main threats will be large hail, damaging winds and even a possible tornado.  When thunderstorms occur they will contain heavy rainfall which will produce flash flooding.

Saturday will see a break in the rain chances.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible again Sunday night into Memorial Day.  There is a 50 percent chance of severe thunderstorms Sunday night and a 70 percent chance on Memorial Day.

The unsettled weather pattern will likely result in chances to the forecast throughout the holiday weekend.
