SAN ANGELO, TX – For the second year in a row, the He Is Risen concert will be happening in San Angelo this summer.
Besos Events will be hosting a deluxe speaker and several musical acts to bring God's ministry to the youth and families of San Angelo.
"Let's celebrate the One that gave us life – if we can reach one person then let's do it."
The concert's organizer, Cynthia Diego of Besos Events, hopes God's message this event brings will reach all corners of the community – especially those who have suffered or have been impacted by drug abuse.
"I want people to know there is a better way to live and that the answer is Jesus," said Diego.
According to Diego, the event creates a space for the community to hear the testimony of those who have dealt with these issues and have the strength and support they need to take control of their addictions.
"Everybody keeps it real. They are honest people who talk about their struggles," said Diego. "These artists spread their ministry by singing and reaching people with their testimony."
Last year's event had more than 40 churches and ministries involved.
The deluxe speaker for this year's event will be Pastor Theodore Boone of the San Angelo Ministerial Alliance.
Pastor Boone is the Overseer of the Jesus Christ Church in Ballinger. He is also the co-founder of the Resurrection Anointed Ministries (RAM) and the Trip Depot Inc.
Here in San Angelo, Pastor Boone serves as the Executive Director of the Ministerial Alliance and the Bridge Connection at 1100 Martin Luther King. The pastor is also the author of "The Trust Factor Now: Whom Or What Will You Trust?"
This year's music headliner will be Christian rapper Lucky Luciano, also known as Christian Anthony Garcia. Lucky Luciano’s music is a mix of hip hop, old-school rap, and gospel, all tied together by transcendent verses.
"The message that Kingdom Music brings is a ministry of music that speaks to younger generations," said organizer Cynthia Diego."Sometimes we feel like we cannot speak to this generation, but they will listen to these lyrics. These songs show there is a better way."
The Houston native will be sharing the stage with Monica Hill, Brann Trejo, Antoine Hill, Young Bro, and Zee.
Families and kids of all ages are invited to join the free event on June 5th with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. The show will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. at the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial Riverstage.
In addition to riveting music and positive messages, t-shirts, candy, hats, and lightsabers will also be available.
Last year the concert was live-streamed on San Angelo Live with more than 50,000 views. The event will be live-streamed again this year.
