Thunderstorms Dumping Heavy Rain Across West Texas

SAN ANGELO, TX – A large band of thunderstorms is moving northeast across West Texas Tuesday morning dumping heavy rain in from Ozone to San Angelo to Abilene. 

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, numerous showers and thunderstorms are moving northeast across the Big Country and the Concho Valley Tuesday morning.  These storms are capable of producing small hail and heavy rainfall which could lead to flooding of streets and roadways in flood prone areas including in the city of San Angelo. 

Some areas in the Concho Valley could see up to an inch of rain. 

There is an 80% chance of thunderstorms mainly before 1 p.m. across the Concho Valley. 

Rain chances drop to 40% Tuesday night and then increase to 50% throughout the day Wednesday.  

No severe weather is expected at this time but flash flooding remains a possibility.
