Two wanted felons were apprehended and jailed this afternoon following a surveillance effort conducted by detectives from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office (TGCSO) and the Texas Rangers.
According to a press release from the TGCSO, the investigators were watching a residence on Jan. 23 in an attempt to apprehend Brian “Blue” Powell, who was wanted on a total of four county and six city warrants.
As they watched the residence, Powell was seen getting into a vehicle, and units on the surveillance team immediately began to follow. With the assistance of the TGCSO Patrol Division, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested both Powell, 31, of San Angelo, and his female passenger, 25-year-old Kimberly “Mimi” Lange, of Eden.
Lange was wanted out of Mason County for failing to appear to a court date for a DWI charge.
Both Lange and Powell have records in San Angelo; Powell has been booked 11 times since 2001 on charges ranging from drug possession to manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, assault and numerous traffic violations.
Lange’s history includes furnishing alcohol to minors, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and failure to appear. Both are being held in lieu of a cumulative of tens of thousands of dollars.
