SAN ANGELO, TX – A White Jeep Cherokee suffered heavy damage after the driver crashed into a heavy duty custom mailbox Monday afternoon on Marx St.
According to San Angelo Police Department Traffic Division investigating officer Welch at the scene, the Jeep was northbound in the 3400 block of Marx St. when for unknown reasons the Jeep ran off the roadway and crashed into the stout mailbox.

The female driver hit her head on the steering wheel and was evaluated by medics but refused treatment.
Officer Welch says the woman was acting 'loopy and out of it' but there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol.
The woman was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
The heavy duty mailbox appeared to have very little damage.
