SAN ANGELO, TX – The woman responsible for crashing into a local donut shop has been indicted for threatening to behead a San Angelo Police Department officer.
According to court documents, on Mar. 4, a Tom Green County grand jury indicted Grace Sanchez, 21, for obstruction and retaliation.
The indictment came after officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 2200 block of Sherwood Way at the Express Donuts and Kolaches on Jan. 17 for the report of a major crash.
When the officers arrived they discovered a Ford Explorer that crashed into the building. The three occupants in the vehicle were taken to Shannon ER.
While there officers met with the driver, Grace Sanchez, 21, they learned that the group was their way back from Oklahoma when they stopped at a party. While learning this officers noticed that Sanchez was showing signs of intoxication.
Sanchez ended up admitting to drinking five beers and an unknown amount of mixed drinks. This led officers to believe that the crash occurred due to drinking and driving. No driving while intoxicated charges have been brought on Sanchez as of now.
Sanchez did get charged with obstruction and retaliation that night after threatening multiple paramedics and even telling an officer that she would cut his head off.
Sanchez was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center on Jan. 17 and was released the following day on a $11,470 bond.
Sanchez next appearance in court has not been scheduled at this time.
