NWS: Developing Severe Weather Prompts Tornado Watch

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Developing weather conditions have prompted National Weather Service San Angelo office meteorologists to issue a Tornado Watch for all of West Central Texas through 10 p.m. Saturday night.  

According to the NWS, thunderstorms are developing and strengthening Saturday afternoon and evening.  Some of those storms will become severe with very large hail, high winds and dangerous lightening the main threats.  

The severe thunderstorms will contain wind gusts to 75 mph and may spawn tornadoes across the western Big Country and the northwest Concho Valley including the city of San Angelo. 

This is a serious weather situation.  Residents are urged to monitor weather media throughout the evening.
