City of Abilene to Consider a Self-Generated Water System

ABILENE, TX -- The City of Abilene announced on Thursday that Enprotec / Hibbs & Todd Inc. will be investigating the failure of the Abilene water system during the winter storm.

EHT is expected to present a proposal for a system that would not be solely reliant on an electrical source to function.

"The public deserves the cost of building a self-generated system," said City Manager Robert Hanna.

After an approximate cost is determined, the matter will be discussed and decided by the Abilene City Council in March.

"Somewhere between that and what we have now, there's likely a solution you might land on," said Hanna.
