City Opens COVID-19 Vaccination Registration

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The City of San Angelo has announced the COVID-19 vaccination efforts have been expanded to a larger group.

According to the city, the San Angelo Health Department is opening registration for COVID-19 vaccinations to:

  • People 65 years of age and older
  • People 18 years of age and older with at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19, such as but not limited to:
    • Cancer 
    • Chronic kidney disease
    • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
    • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
    • Solid-organ transplantation
    • Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
    • Pregnancy 
    • Sickle cell disease
    • Type 2 diabetes 

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Tom Green County will receive a combined total of 3,710 COVID-19 vaccine doses this week.

As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of 8,416 residents have been fully vaccinated in San Angelo -- while 16,624 have received at least the first dose.

Vaccine availability remains limited at this time and interested parties are asked to fill out the COVID-19 Vaccination Registration Form on the city's website.

If the applicant is approved they will be contacted by a city employee to schedule the appointment.
