SAN ANGELO, TX -- Lonestar Cheeseburger has shipped in water and is now open for business.
As previously reported, on Feb. 8, the City of San Angelo's Health Department shut down all of the restaurants in San Angelo after a possible naphthalene exposure to the city's water. For the original story see: San Angelo's Bad Water Situation Escalates Quickly
The following morning many San Angeloans wandered around San Angelo looking for a bite to eat. All restaurants were shut down and the only hope was at the San Angelo fair grounds. See: The Only Place Serving Food in San Angelo During Water Crisis
Then one of San Angelo's top chefs, Tim Condon, came up with an idea. Instead of using city water, he brought in water from an outside source.
"We have sourced an alternate supply of water that is SAFE and CLEAN," stated a post by Lonestar Cheeseburger. "We topped off our tanks just moments ago and are ready to serve San Angelo it's favorite burgers"
Sources claim that the TCEQ called their first supplier for the water and told them to not deliver the water to Lonestar Cheeseburger. After this Condon found an alternative supplier.
Lonestar Cheeseburger is located at 333 W Beauregard Ave and is open now.
