Police Searching for West San Angelo Fugitive Gunman

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police had a busy night Monday night. In addition to responding to an assault, SAPD officers were dispatched to a shooting on Lakeside Ave. in west San Angelo.

According to the SAPD, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Lakeside Avenue for a report of a shooting victim. 

At the scene officers located a 69-year-old man lying in the roadway, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to Shannon Medical Center and is in stable condition.

The subsequent investigation revealed the victim had approached the suspect unprovoked and confronted the subject at knifepoint.

The suspect, who has not been identified, shot the victim while standing by a nearby vehicle.
