DPS Identifies Man Killed In Officer Involved Shooting

 

SNYDER, TX – The Texas Rangers have identified the suspect killed by officers in Synder on Tuesday.

According to DPS, officers were dispatched to the Rip Griffin Travel Center for reports of a disturbance.

Snyder Police officers and Scurry County deputies located 57-year-old Kevin Hayes of Arkansas.

Hayes was holding a firearm and opened fire when officers asked him to drop the gun.

The officers returned fire and Hayes was killed.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
