SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department has confirmed a San Angelo Independent School District teacher has been arrested on charges of an improper relationship with a student.
According to SAPD, on November 14, 2020, San Angelo Independent School District Administration contacted SAPD Crimes Against Children Unit with information about a possible improper relationship between a teacher and a 14-year-old student.
After the investigation was completed, arrest warrants for 23-year-old Cole Larsson were obtained for the offenses of Indecency with a Child by Contact and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student.
Larsson was apprehended without incident in Midland on January 30, 2021.
Additional charges may be filed depending on the outcome of this ongoing investigation, police said.
The San Angelo ISD issued a statement.
On Monday, February 1, 2021, San Angelo ISD was notified of an arrest of a former employee involving inappropriate conduct with a minor. The District cannot disclose details regarding a former employee. We rely on law enforcement to take appropriate legal action for situations involving former employees.
"We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district," the statement said. The San Angelo ISD has a link on its website where anyone can report incidences like this.
