SAN ANGELO, TX – Wondering why smoke is in the air near Central High? Here is why.
According to scanner reports, on Jan. 26 at around 9:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the Veterans Memorial Dr. near Central High School for the report of a grass fire.
When they arrived they discovered a large brush area that was on fire across the river under loop 306.
Firefighters decided instead of putting out the fire they would just control it to clear the area of the brush.
A nixel was issued to inform citizens to avoid the area.
