Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies Out in Force This Holiday Season

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office will have extra patrols out this Holiday season.  Deputies will be participating in the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or STEP initiative.  Deputies will be monitoring the highways for speeding, occupant restraint, and possible intoxicated drivers. 

Through this initiative with the Texas Department of Transportation over the last year, Deputies provided extra patrols and Tom Green County had a 24 percent decrease in fatal or serious bodily injury traffic accidents. 

Through November and December, Deputies will be working the "Click It or Ticket" and the "Impaired Driver Mobility" campaign through the Department of Transportation.  The goal, to reduce motor vehicle accidents and keep the holiday season safe for all travelers.
