Taylor County Reports High Covid Numbers on Thursday

 

ABILENE, TX -- The Abilene–Taylor County Public Health District has confirmed 126 new positive Covid cases on Thursday.

According to the data released by city officials, the current active case count rests at 1,625. At least 700 of the active cases were confirmed using PCR tests. There are currently 49 patients hospitalized.

Since the pandemic began, Taylor County has confirmed 5,193 total positive cases after administering 49,253 tests. The county has also reported a total of 82 deaths, less than Tom Green County.

Three new deaths were confirmed on Thursday: 

  • male in his 70s with preexisting conditions
  • male in his 50s with preexisting conditions
  • male in his 70s with preexisting conditions.
