JIM NED, TX -- During the election voters in the Jim Ned Consolidated Independent School District approved two bond measures that would provide $33 million for the district.
According to the school district, one of the propositions provides nearly $25 million for expansion and improvements in the district.
"We experienced a significant growth rate in 2019-2020, almost 10%," said superintendent Dr. Glen Teal.
The second proposal will allot around $7 million to build a new auditorium that will be able to host community events, assemblies, and other concerts in addition to theatre productions.
"Jim Ned CISD does not currently have a traditional auditorium," said Dr. Neal. "We just have a high school cafetorium."
The projects are expected to be completed in three years.
