SAN ANGELO, TX – A trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop on a white 2018 Chrysler 200 near the 486 mile marker of US HWY 87 on Monday morning for a speeding violation just after 10:00 a.m.
During the traffic stop the trooper made contact with the driver, identified by his Texas driver's license as Andrew Michael Garlinghouse and his passenger, also identified by her license as Lee Alisabeth French-Todd, both residents of Austin, TX.
According to a report by the trooper, it was noted that Garlinghouse was suspicious and acting very nervous during the stop after he initially denied to give the trooper consent for a search of the vehicle. As a result the trooper immediately requested a K-9 unit to the scene, which ultimately alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle the trooper recovered several bags of meth, along with hundreds of little baggies, including a scale, an undetermined amount of Adderall, and a bottle of Xanax in the two's possession. Both Garlinghouse and Todd were subsequently placed under arrest at the scene before the two were transported to the Tom Green County Detention Facility, released to jail staff, and booked for multiple narcotics infractions.
Following his arrest Garlinghouse was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility after being charged with MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=4G<200G, POSS CS PG 2 >=1G<4G, POSS CS PG 3 < 28G, POSS DANGEROUS DRUG, and held on $72,000.00 in bond.
Additionally, 27-year-old Lee Alisabeth French-Todd was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility after being charged with MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=4G<200G, POSSS CS PG 1 >= 1G<4G, POSS CS PG 2 >= 1G<4G, POSS CS PG 3 < 28G, and held on $91,000.00 in bond.
On Tuesday, Garlinghouse was released from the Tom Green County Detention Facility after posting the $72K in bond, however, as of Wednesday afternoon French-Todd has not made bail at this time.
